Software Engineer – New York

As a member of the CameronTec engineering team in New York you will have the opportunity to contribute to the design and implementation of new products and the continuous improvement of existing products. You will participate in front line customer support as part of our North American support desk. You will have the opportunity to make a name for yourself in the financial industry.

To be considered for this role you must have:

  • A BS, BE or related degree level qualification from a recognised institution
  • At least 3 years commercial software development experience using the Java programming language
  • The ability to work in a small team, or individually, to take a product to market
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical capabilities
  • A systems engineering approach to problem solving
  • A commitment to excellent customer service

Highly desirable skills include:

  • Commercial experience in the development of real time, multi-threaded applications
  • Commercial experience in the development of network level software
  • Commercial FIX Protocol experience
  • Experience with various Java APIs (e.g. JMX, JDBC, JMS)
  • Experience with industry messaging middlewares (e.g. 29West, IBM LLM, IBM MQ Series, Tibco)
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language
  • Knowledge of agile development processes and market-driven product management
  • Commercial experience in the development of electronic marketplace connectivity (e.g. stock exchanges, MTFs, ECNs, Reuters, Bloomberg, etc)
