- Hardware requirements — CameronFIX is characterized by modest hardware requirements. E.g. 100 FIX connections supporting 100 transactions per sec each can be accommodated with a 2- or 4-CPU (dual or quad core) with 8 to 16 GB memory, GBit network and 10krpm HD such as Sun Fire X4440.
- Software requirements — No additional third-party software required.
- FIX & FAST protocols – Supports FIX 4.0, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 and 5.0 and FAST v1.1, at a session level.
- Asset classes – CameronFIX seamlessly facilitates trading of all FIX-enabled asset classes covering equities, fixed income, futures, options, and FX.
- Extensibility – CameronFIX is built on component model architecture to enable clients to leverage extensive interfaces to deploy custom implementations, additional functionality and deep integration with OMSs, internal crossing engines, smart routers and liquidity management systems.
- Performance – CameronFIX is extensively optimized for superior performance through:
- Optimized threading model
- Re-use of objects for zero-object creation to limit garbage collection
- Documented best practices to optimize custom code
- Additional performance efficiencies for demanding requirements:
- Each FIX session on CameronFIX can handle thousands of messages. Each CameronFIX engine can handle hundreds of concurrent sessions. Each hardware host can run multiple CameronFIX servers.
- Technology interfaces
- CameronFIX communicates with internal systems using your choice of technology. Standard adapters are available for:
- Socket interface and C/C++ API
- Messaging and middleware products – TIBCO Rendezvous, IBM MQ Series, Microsoft MQ, Java RMI or any other JMS (Java Messaging Service) compliant messaging product
- Databases (via JDBC)
- .NET Adapter allows quicker integration of .NET framework applications, by providing a native .NET API into the CameronFIX Engine with no dependencies on COM. It can be used by any language of .NET
- FIX Routing capabilities — CameronFIX can operate in FIX/in-FIX/out as a FIX routing hub. Specific capabilities enable throttling, buffering, drop-copy, dynamic routing and message alterations on the fly.
Additional Option for the CameronFIX Developer Edition:
Market Mirror
- The Market Mirror is designed to keep track of positions in a market, such as outstanding and executed orders, and is used for order state management and tracking orders for potential compliance issues, within the CameronFIX environment.
- The CameronFIX Engine and its flexible message processor architecture combined with the CameronFIX Market Mirror provide the core Direct Market Access architecture and infrastructure to build a FIX interface to any market. FIX relies on tracking market information and history therefore the Market Mirror has particular importance as it provides the capability for holding that order state and history where it is not supplied directly by the underlying market.
